Facilities

Main Hall: The main hall is 15.5m long x 7.25m wide, with a high ceiling and a serving hatch to the kitchen. It can seat up to 75 theatre style or a maximum of 60 when laid out for dining.

Committee Room: Set out as a meeting room which can hold 10-12 people comfortably, the Committee Room has its own entrance to the hall as well as access to the kitchen and toilet facilities and is included in the hire of the main hall (it is only available to hire separately for Upton Village groups and may have to be shared with any activity taking place in the Main Hall).

Tables and Chairs: There are 21 Gopak folding tables, 1520 x 760mm, and 4 Polyfold plastic trestle tables, 1800 x 900mm, together with 80 stacking chairs. You can download a 1:100 scale PDF plan of the village hall together with a 1:100 sheet of ready-to-cut-out tables and chairs allowing you to plan your layout in advance.

The Gopak tables are simple to install, although it requires some strength to close the tables after use. To this end a special tool is provided to unlock the legs. It is worthwhile watching the short video which shows how to set up and dismantle tables as well as how to use the tool.

Please bring your own table cloths if you wish to use them as we don’t have these available.

Children’s Table & Chairs

There are two low pre-school tables which are perfect for toddlers to play at.  We also have (pictured) a table with eight chairs suitable for 2-7 year olds.  Please bring your own table cloths or covers for these as we don’t have these available.

Kitchen: The kitchen, extended and refurbished in 2015, has copious working space, a main sink as well as a handwash basin with infrared tap, a full height fridge-freezer, a 900mm kitchen range with induction hob, microwave, wall kettle and domestic kettle. The kitchen is lit by a combination of bright LED working lights, dimmable LED downlights and under-cabinet lighting. There are in excess of 40 coffee mugs and further cups and saucers together with a reasonable amount of hall crockery, but for large functions we recommend hiring crockery and cutlery. There are wine glasses and beer glasses for 50.  The kitchen has an electrically controlled serving hatch to the main hall.

Parking: There is parking for up approximately 13 cars, with overflow parking for another 20 cars on the adjacent grass area which is reinforced with rubber matting.

Recreation Ground: The Hall backs onto Upton Recreation Ground which has a new adventure playground and bike humps.  These facilities can be used at the hirer’s risk.  To use the space in the recreation ground for external events please contact the Clerk of Upton Parish Council at parish.clerk@uptonvillage.co.uk.
