The Village Hall owns a Premises Licence, issued by Vale of White Horse District Council (PL0335).

The Licence authorises:

  • an exhibition of a film
  • an indoor sporting event
  • a boxing or wrestling entertainment
  • a performance of live music
  • any playing of recorded music
  • a performance of dance
  • entertainment of a similar description to that falling within a performance of live music, any playing of recorded music or a performance of dance
  • entertainment facilities for making music
  • entertainment facilities for dancing
  • entertainment of a similar description to that falling within entertainment facilities for making music or dancing
  • the sale by retail of alcohol

The permitted hours are 9am to midnight, with the exception of the sale of alcohol (for consumption ON the premises only) which are 11am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, noon to 10.30pm Sunday. Different hours apply to Bank Holidays.

You must seek the permission of the Management Committee if you wish to use the Premises Licence, and we reserve the right to refuse such permission. There is a charge of £20 per day for use of the Premises Licence for the purposes of selling alcohol.

In all cases where alcohol is to be consumed on the premises, whether for sale or otherwise, we require the names and mobile numbers of two adults who will be present at the event in question and who will be responsible for upholding the licensing laws.
